SERVPRO of South Atlanta Water Damage Restoration & Mitigation SERVPRO of South Atlanta is here 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. Give us a call so we can help make your water damage "Like it never even happened."

If your Atlanta, GA home or business experiences water damage call SERVPRO of South Atlanta. We have technicians in the field 24-hours a day and on call to perform emergency water extraction and drying services. Our highly trained water restoration technicians will be on-site within two hours of notification (in most cases) and can start the drying process immediately. A fast response is key to any successful restoration project. In order to start our emergency and restoration services our customer must sign the “Service Authorization Form.” This allows us to take action immediately.

*During emergency services, sometimes we do not know our customer insurance coverage prior to communicating with their adjuster or agent; therefore it is impossible for us to know exactly what your insurance will cover. It is important to understand that as our customer, you are financially responsible for our services. Customer’s insurance deductible is payable before we start work. If for any reason insurance coverage cannot be verified at the time of our emergency service, an additional deposit may be required.

The following steps may be completed in the emergency service, as determined to be applicable by SERVPRO of South Atlanta:

Identify Source

  • Stop the Source
  • Check for Contaminated Water

We will check for the source of moisture in our customer’s building. The source must be stopped before any restoration or drying of the building can be successful.

Identify Type of Water

  • Clean Water
  • Gray Water
  • Black Water

We will identify the category and classification of water damage to ensure we restore our customer’s property based on industry guidelines. The level of contamination of the water will affect the specific restoration processes we use.

Survey Extent of Damage and Inspect the Premises

  • Survey Damage
  • Complete Safety Inspection

An IICRC Certified Restoration Technician will inspect and test the damaged area to determine the extent of damage and how far the moisture has traveled to ensure proper and complete restoration. In addition, we will inspect for safety concerns which may be evident. If there are any safety issues that our customer is aware of like building materials that contain asbestos, please bring them to our attention before our arrival.

Identify Signs of Visible Mold Growth

  • Identify Mold Growth Present in the Structure
  • Identify Odors or Musty Smells

Visible mold growth and moldy, musty odors may indicate the source of a moisture or water intrusion. If extensive mold is evident, we will need to consult our customer’s adjuster or property manager before completing additional work.

Furniture Moved & Blocked in Place

  • Block Furniture

We move furniture and property contents and block items to help prevent rust or furniture stains on wet carpet. When we “block” furniture and other items that means that we place them on small foam blocks to prevent water damage and allow the drying process to take place.

Emergency Water Extraction

  • Remove Excess Water

We remove as much excess water as possible from affected areas using powerful portable extractors or commercial vacuum systems mounted in our service vehicle.

Carpet Pad

  • Inspect Carpet Pad
  • Remove Carpet Pad if Needed

We check whether the carpet pad should be removed to save or protect the subfloor.

Treatments

  • Apply Deodorize, Disinfectant, and/or Antimicrobial Treatment

Our process may utilize deodorizers as odor treatments or EPA-registered disinfectants as antimicrobial treatments. Treatment with antimicrobial restoration products help ensure no future mold growth takes place.

Disposal

  • Remove Refuse

We will remove and dispose of damaged materials with guidance from our customer and their adjuster. Removing wet, unrestorable materials helps facilitate the drying process.

Floor & Wall Inspection

  • Inspect Floors
  • Inspect Walls

We check the extent of wet flooring, subfloors and walls. This ensures that the entire water issue is addressed and gives our technician a better understanding of the affected area.

Carpet

  • Inspect Carpet
  • Remove Carpet if Needed

We examine carpet for damages and remove damaged carpet with guidance from our customer and their adjuster. Our goal is always to clean and restore our customer carpet but in some cases removal is a more cost effective restoration plan.

Measure Temperature/Humidity for Drying Analysis

  • Measure Temperature
  • Measure Humidity

We monitor the temperature and humidity levels to make sure conditions are conducive for drying. To dry a structure safely and efficiently monitoring and adjusting drying conditions is crucial.

Equipment

  • Utilize Drying Equipment
  • Utilized Monitoring Equipment

Strategically placed drying equipment removes moisture and brings the relative humidity level back to normal. We monitor moisture in the wet materials until the materials return to acceptable drying goals.
